About Michael

Michael is a partner focused on turnaround, restructuring and insolvency client challenges. He has over 32 years experience in financial analysis, restructuring, and commercial decision-making. He is the Melbourne Business Recovery Services leader and previously co-led the national Business Recovery Services team. 

Michael is an insolvency practitioner and advisor to boards, non-executive directors, financiers, syndicates, C-suite executives, government and shareholders. He has a strong grasp of financial accounting statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial ratios and his knowledge extends to banking and financing arrangements, debt facilities, and legal contracts. Michael particularly enjoys working in the Education sector where he has supported universities and TAFEs with practical transaction and turnaround projects.

Michael served as a board member and Chair of the Finance Committee at Yarra Valley Grammar for nine years. He has also been the Minister-appointed External Administrator of the Framlingham Aboriginal Trust and chaired the Victorian Committee of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association. Michael is Treasurer of Ivanhoe Junior Football Club and has been a committee member for White Owl for Men’s Health Awareness. Michael is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a Registered Liquidator, professional member of the Australian Restructuring and Insolvency Turnaround Association, and a Chartered Accountant and member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
