Chief Risk and Ethics Leader, PwC Australia
Jan McCahey is the Chief Risk and Ethics Leader for PwC Australia and a member of PwC Australia's Management Leadership Team. She was previously a member of PwC’s Assurance Leadership Team, with responsibility for the quality of the work undertaken by that business, compliance with regulations and standards, risk management and public policy matters. She has a keen interest in understanding changing community expectations for business and the professions, and the link between transparency and trust.
From 2015 to 2019 Jan was the PwC network's Global Public Policy Leader, based in London. In that role she chaired the Global Public Policy Committee, a global forum of the six largest international accounting networks (BDO, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Grant Thornton, KPMG and PwC) whose aim is to participate constructively in shaping global public policy in the public interest. Jan has continued that focus in an Australian context, meeting regularly with leaders in government, regulatory agencies and groups representing the accounting profession on matters relating to regulation and public policy.
Jan has a long-standing involvement in regulation, having served as Chief Accountant at ASIC and in several accounting standard setting roles in Australia and globally.
Jan is active in community activities and a member of Chief Executive Women.
Outside of work, Jan enjoys heading outside to tend her garden, play a round of golf or be inspired by the curiosity of her toddler grandchild.
