The online application form gives you the opportunity to tell us a little bit about yourself. When you're completing the application form, remember to include all of your experience to date, including academic, work experience, extra-curricular activities and personal interests. We want you to tell us about the 'whole' you, not just your academic achievements.
Read the questions carefully to make sure you answer to the best of your ability, and remember to demonstrate and exemplify the skills and competencies that will help you succeed at PwC. View our tips for applying to help you succeed in this step of the process.
Step two of the application process requires you to complete an online numeric and verbal reasoning test, which helps us to determine your numerical and verbal reasoning ability.
The tests typically take 30-45 minutes to complete and your results are verified when you visit us to attend the assessment centre. To help you, there are online practise tests that we encourage you to complete prior to undergoing the real test, available at www.shldirect.com.
Later in the recruitment process you may also be asked to complete a personality questionnaire. This assesses how you like to work and while there are no right or wrong answers in behavioural style, some behaviours may be more or less appropriate to certain situations. We use the results of this questionnaire to assess which roles and areas of the business you would be most suited to based on your working preferences and behaviours.
All online questionnaires must be completed before you visit us for the next stage of the application process, which typically provides you with a 24-48 hour window to complete the questionnaires. For more information about the assessments used, including practice questionnaires and example questions, refer to www.shldirect.com.
If you're successful in steps one and two, we'll contact you to conduct a short telephone interview. This gives you an opportunity to learn more about the program you have applied for as well as giving us the opportunity to learn more about you and your motivations.
This discussion is typically a 'behavioural based' interview and is just as important as a face-to-face interview. Prior to the telephone interview we encourage you to read through your application form again, so the information is fresh in your mind.
At the assessment centre, you'll be asked to participate in several different exercises which could include a written exercise, group activity, face-to-face interviews, office tour and validating your online ability test.
Depending on the office you've applied to, this could be held over one or two days. During this phase of the application process we are very interested in finding out more about you - so take confidence in the fact that you've made it through to this stage.
Certain business units will require you to complete a case study interview. This will involve a face-to-face interview where the interviewer will present you with a problem. You will then be expected to discuss this problem and will be assessed on your approach to the case.
We hope the day is a fun and valuable experience for you.
If you've been successful in steps one to four, you will be contacted shortly after the assessment centre by your interviewer or recruitment adviser, who will make you a formal offer to join us.
Congratulations on your successful performance throughout the selection process! This will be the start of a rewarding career at PwC.
